In 1907, Emile Kuntz's father left Alsace and immigrated to Joinville in southern Brazil. He died tragically a few days after his arrival. Close to a century later, Emile doesn't know much about this story, but the mystery haunts him just as Brazil fascinates him.
He confides in his friend, Regina, a Brazilian director living in Alsace, who leads the investigation to Brazil where she uncovers a city marked with a Germanic culture. Discovering the circumstances of the death, she reassembles the different pieces of the family puzzle... A film in homage to an old man who had others call him Emilio.

A documentary about people wearing uniforms or costumes. Who are they with, and who are they without their second skin? The film explores these questions through different characters : a policeman, a priest, a clown, a drag queen...
“I see neither forms nor light, nothing, absolutely nothing. But I’m not in the dark, I see nothing“, says Jean-Michel, who is blind from birth, like the other characters in the film.
Yvette, Léon and the others are between 70 and 80 years old. They live in different countrysides, but each of them is living in the same house for years and years, in the countryside where they are born.
