Le film a été réalisé par Christian von der Heyden en 2007. Il a déjà été sélectionné Aux Ecrans du Réel, concours Européen du Premier Film Documentaire au Mans en 2007.
"En 1978, je faisais mon premier voyage en Afrique de l'Ouest. Plus d'un quart de siècle plus tard, je retourne sur mes pas de voyageur à la recherche de ceux qui ont marqué la mémoire du jeune homme que j'étais.
